Bijie, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guizhou province, is located in the northwest of Guizhou province, at the junction of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, the hinterland of Wumeng mountain, the key and lock of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou, the roof of Guizhou plateau, and the barrier of Yangtze river and pearl river. Bijie is adjacent to Guiyang and Zunyi in the east, Anshun and Liupanshui in the south, Zhaotong and Qujing in Yunnan province in the west, and Luzhou city in Sichuan province in the north. The total area of the city is nearly 26,900 square kilometers. Bijie is 217 kilometers from the provincial capital Guiyang, and 210 kilometers, 240 kilometers, 370 kilometers, 200 kilometers and 172 kilometers respectively from Luzhou, Zhaotong, Qujing, Anshun and Zunyi. It is the birthplace of the Wujiang river, Beipan river and Chishui river, is a place with multi-ethnic inhabitation, splendid history and culture, rich resources, magical beauty and shining red culture.
